------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 * Introduction
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PicInfo is a very small program, designed to find out the height and width of
web-related image formats. Output is in a neat 'height=xxx width=yyy'
format for simple cut-n-paste into your web pages.

IMPORTANT: If you include 'height' and 'width' tags for all of the images in
your web pages, it will greatly improve the speed at which a browser can
render your pages, making them far nicer for people to view. If you have not
included these tags, then 'PicInfo' provides a quick way of adding them to
your pages by providing you with output formatted specificaly for this
purpose.

Features:
 * Can process a single file, or directory.
 * Inteligent identification of GIF, PNG & JPEG formats.
 * Simple, single argument command line program, /or/
 * Director 'PlugIn' front-end.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 * Installation
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Simple, copy the !PicInfo directory out of the archive to somewhere
convenient on your harddisc.

The command 'PicInfo' will become available once the !PicInfo directory has
been seen in a filer window.

If you do not have a copy of !Director by Nick Craig-Wood, then you will be
unable to use the front-end for PicInfo which adds a 'Drag-n-drop'
interface.

You can find the latest copy of !Director on Nick Craig-Wood's website:
  http://www.axis.demon.co.uk/director.html

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 * Command line use
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Syntax: *PicInfo <Filename> | <Directory>

You can pass the name of either a single file, or of a directory to PicInfo.

If you specify a single file, then PicInfo will (after determining if the
file is of a recognisable format) display details of the file.

If you specify the name of a directory, then PicInfo will examine all of the
files within that directory of type GIF, JPEG, PNG, DATA and Unknown. If any
of these files are found to be a valid GIF, JPEG or PNG file, then PicInfo
will output details of the files.

The output of PicInfo will look a little like this:

PicInfo V0.2.0, (c) J.Temple, 18/VII/1998.
