JTUtils - A desktop organiser-organiser

WIMP interface to Director

The most noticeable change to Director is JTUtils effect upon the main Director menu. All of the original options on the Director menu are now available via a configuration program. The new Director menu serves as a means of starting and stopping Director, accessing the configuration program, and viewing help for Director, and any 'PlugIn' applications installed.

The JTUtils configuration program has been designed to simplify access to, maintenance and configuration of Director.

PlugIn applications

The PlugIn concept is widespread, and currently trendy. So I've decided to jump on the bandwagon!

With a program like Director, it is particularly difficult to add features in such a way that they are easy to distribute and easily installed by other users.

The Director PlugIn idea encapsulates all of the elements of a Director patch in a single directory. Following some simple guidelines, these programs can then simply be 'dragged' on to the Director configuration program to install them. They should also then be able to benefit from the JTUtils configuration program (allowing for the configuration of, start/stopping and auto-starting thereof)and the dynamic director help menu

JTUtils comes with a complete description of the Director PlugIn interface, along with two example PlugIns.

Additional commands / utilities / dynamic menus

This program came about as a consequence of a small multi-function utility (JTUtils) that was written to offer a number of dynamic menus for Director from a single program.

This small program has now expanded considerably, and I have also started to include a number of extra commands and dynamic menus, kindly donated by a number of other people.
